Q: Is it permissible to use some of the zakat money to build masaajid, quran memorization schools, initiate memorization circles, and build hospitals?
A: The obvious is that it is not permissible due to these things not being from the eight (individuals) in which zakat is distributed. The severely impoverished, the working class poor, the collector of the zakat, the one whose heart is inclined towards the truth, and, and, and (til the end of the eight mentioned in surah At Taubah: 60). Give it to the school if there are therein poor people. It is given to them as a result of them being poor. As for them being given cars or building for them schools, this is not correct as it is not from (the legislated) distribution of zakat.
